Credit Card Processing Fees Calculator
60 seconds. A few taps. Your estimated savings, built from published pricing. You keep your software either way.
How to calculate credit card processing fees
Take your card volume for one month. Apply your current rate to it. Multiply by twelve. That yearly number is what card processing costs you, and most owners have never seen it written down.
The hard part is your real rate. A statement shows a headline rate, then adds line items under it. The rate you actually pay is the total of every fee divided by what you ran. The calculator above asks for your volume and your software, then estimates that all-in number for you.
What most owners are paying now
Payment software that bundles processing tends to price in one band. We publish ours. Both figures below are ranges, because your mix of cards and how you take them moves the number.
- You pay now
- 2.9%-3.6% through your software
- With us
- 2.2%-2.5% all-in
- You keep
- about $5,000 to $17,000 a year at $100,000 a month
On a $1,000 job, that is $29-$36 in fees through your software vs $22-$25 with us. We round the yearly figures. The calculator above uses your own volume instead.
Why your software picked your rate
You did not choose your card processor. The software you run chose it, and it set the rate you pay on every sale. That is why two shops on the same system pay nearly the same price no matter how different their books look.
Our extension routes the same cards cheaper and you keep the software you already run. Payments post back into it the way they do today. We have 14 active merchants running this, across 8 recorded software types, on 264 platforms: 32 with full write-back and 232 where the card is charged inside the tool you already use.
Pay near zero with dual pricing
Want to pay near zero? Customers who pay by card cover the fee, about 3.5%. Runs as dual pricing, not a surcharge: customers see both prices before they pay. State disclosure rules vary; we configure the disclosures and receipts for your state at setup.
